Explore Homer Alaska
Homer Alaska is on the Kenai Peninsula and over looks the Cook Inlet - the southernmost point of Alaska
Homer has Beautiful beaches and is truly a quiet paradise.
We visited world famous Salty Dog Saloon and bought souvenir T-shirts.
Our friends Les and Dorothy Fickes invited us to park our RV in their front yard overlooking the Cook Inlet and enjoy the 4th of July weekend. We went halibut fishing and dip netting for salmon. Caught our limit of halibut and have filled the freezer both at Dorothy's and in our RV!
Fishing Licenses for two people $290 for the season! We made the mistake of buying a 7 day license (I should say - I made the mistake - trying to "save money")- now that we're having fun fishing for salmon we'll need to buy the season's pass after all!
The pics shown are of the surrounding sites on the world famous Homer Spit, the Homer Spit marina and our day dip netting on a beautiful stream off the Inlet.
The sailboat pictures are for my son KC - an avid and accomplished sailor :)
