Perry has been spending most of today trying to decide which campgrounds and where we want to stay in Alaska. Should be arriving mid-May to 1st week in June depending on how long we stay in WA with friends Joanne and Rich.
We've finally found a couple of campgrounds - one in Fairbanks (the North Pole) and one in Sterling (on the Kenai Peninsula). We may be "work camping" (our first time!) in Fairbanks for the month of June - if we do we'll get a free site for 20 hours a week of mowing grass and checking in fellow campers. We'll have plenty of time off to shop and explore.
Then we'll head south to Kenai for July and August (#2 best salmon fishing spot in the WORLD) total cost of our site will be $900 for those two months.
We plan to drive to Denali Park on our days off while in Fairbanks.
This is getting more exciting every day! - Perry can hardly wait to take a picture of me fishing with a bear standing across the river from my fish!
By clicking the link above you can see the campground in Sterling (on the Kenai River).
by the way..tonite we had free entertainment here in the park in Clermont FL - "Last Tyme Out" bluegrass-country-gospel band..they were awesome. Pictures coming :)
