Coopers Landing AK

Just wanted to update a few pics from our trip. One of our favorite places so far in Alaska has been Coopers Landing.

It's in the Chugach national Forest on the Kenai River and Lake. Beautiful scenery everywhere you look.

We plan to stay at the Princess RV Resort and Lodge (owned by Princess Cruise Lines) in August. Here's a picture of the lodge and a view from the river.

We spend most of our days here either fishing for salmon or exploring the back roads on the Kenai. Haven't seen too many bears here - guess they stay inland since there are more people in this area during the summer.

We did see a moose yesterday - they usually are grazing right on the side of the road. Unfortunately, 180 of them have been killed this year already by cars. I can't imagine what those cars must look like after running into a tall, lanky and HeAVY moose! Bless their hearts - I hate to think they were killed - they are such sweet, shy animals.

By the way, my blog isn't featured "in order" - I've been having too much fun to keep up on a daily basis - but will TRY harder to post every day!
