No luck today fishing. Perry got two good hits and nearly got them to the bank but they broke the line! We've decided that the best time for us is between 3-4pm since we were there a little too early today...we got there @1130 am ... who knows?
The locals say the reds were running at a place just south of us on the river and should be arriving by 6pm but we were just too tired and hungry to wait for them. - Tomorrow is another day :)
We'll head out at @10pm AK tonite to see if we can spot bears and moose on the Kenai Loop just north of here. Will post some pics if get them!
We stopped on the way back from Soldotna (isn't that a cool name?) and took some final pictures of the wood carvings. Perry had chosen "Possession" as his name for the bear and the boy but the name "Mine-Mine-Mine" won! the person who won will get a nice carving from the artist - just not the one he named :)
Our weather was rainy today too - lots of it - just drizzled but we dressed warm in our long johns, insulated waders and raincoats.
Perry is going to need a new rain jacket soon - his is disintegrating - and it's an LL Bean too!! wow..that hardly ever happens - but I guess it's probably time - it's about 12 years old now!
We went to our new favorite fishing spot today but guess the "gig is up" - it was pretty crowded with other guys wanting to catch our fish and they DID!
