flood advisory remains in effect...flood advisory for a glacial dam outburst..
western Kenai Peninsula along the Kenai River from Skilak Lake to Kenai
Yesterday we went to our regular fishing spot on the Kenai in a town called Soldotna.
The river was much higher than usual and very swift moving.
Up until this week we have been able to fish while standing in our waders along the river bank but because of the glacier melt upstream and the approaching floods we were only able to fish an hour or so with no luck - it was too deep and too swift!
It's also been raining steadily for the past few days so that's added to the water levels.
We decided "Better to be safe than sorry" - no fish is worth drowning over :)
I'm sure my brother Captain Wally would agree ...
If you live in the metro DC area, including Annapolis and Northern Virginia and love to fish - he GUARANTEES you'll catch fish on the Chesapeake Bay!
check out his photos today at ... http://www.fishstrikezone.com and tell him Sis sent you! :)
