More fun in Kenai - dip netting salmon

Next...

We drove to the "Cannery" in Kenai where the Alaskan residents were dip netting salmon. All Alaskan residents are allowed to catch salmon from July 15 to August 15 in huge nets on long poles called "dip nets".

The head of the house can catch 25 fish, everyone else in the house is allowed 10 each. So...if you've got a household of mom-dad-3 children you can catch up to 65 fish per day!

Most Alaskans we see on the road have either freezers or coolers on the back of their RVS or trucks and now we know why! That's enough fish to feed a family for a year!

I was also wondering why there are so many beautiful young women here - their skins are clear - their eyes are bright - they just look HEALTHY. It's gotta be the fact they are eating so much salmon!
