Our time in Homer is nearly over
Our brief "respite" is nearly over here in Homer and we'll be going back to Sterling today.
We spent the weekend here at our friends' home overlooking Kachemack Bay having left the RV back in the park :) She probably needed a break from us !!
Since the weather was perfect this weekend for more photo opps we took some spectacular pictures of the Homer Spit from the top of the hill overlooking the Bay.If you visit Homer you'll want to go up East Hill Road to see the veiw! I'll put some pics up as soon as they are downloaded so check back in a day or so.
We then spent an hour metal detecting the exhibit area of a closed flea market and found 2 Qtrs, 4 Nickels, 10 Dimes and 14 Pennies. No old coins - just recent ones.
Then we headed out to the Homer Spit to watch surf kiters on the Cook Inlet. The water is so cold I can't imagine how they don't feel it even in wet suits! but they were having a ball.
When we got back to Dorothy's house we fixed homemade fries and halibut - so good I wish you could taste it! we'll need to hit the road for exercise soon - the love handles are expanding :)
